How to Repair an LED Panel Light?

8/3/2010 1:10:38 AM

An LED panel light is commonly used for business signs as well as indoor gardens as great way to grow seeds. You will be able to have control over the amount of light that is given off as well as the current that is needed. It is something that may need to be repaired over time. You will find that most things that you will need to do to repair these light panels are not very difficult. Knowing how to quickly and properly fix your LED panel lightwhenever it needs repair is a great way to keep it going for years to come.

Materials Needed

Step 1 ¨C Electrical Current

Typically, whenever you are noticing that your LED panel light is not working properly, the first thing you should do is check the electrical current. You will find that an ohmmeter is the best and most accurate way for you to do this. You will simply need to hook up the ohmmeter to the panel and see what the reading is. If the reading is not where it should be, then you have an electrical problem on your hands. However, if the reading is good, then you may simply need to go over the rest of the panel to see if anything is broken.

Step 2 ¨C Bulbs

Something that you will probably need to do that can be very tedious but very necessary is to check out all of the bulbs. An LED panel light will typically have at least 50 lights. You will need to go over every single one of them. It is a lot like a strand of Christmas lights: if one is messed up, then it could ruin the rest of them. You will need to go over every single one of the lights and make sure that they are working properly and are not broken in anyway. If they are, then you will need to replace the ones that are broken. This will typically fix the problem quickly. Be sure to take note of how many bulbs are burnt out or broken and that you remember where they are so whenever you go to replace them, you do not have to go over all of them again to try to find the ones that need to be replaced.

Step 3 ¨C Clean

Sometimes, if enough dust and dirt gets into the area, it can mess up the connection as well as the bulbs. You will find that occasionally going over the bulbs as well as the entire panel with a soft cloth is a great way for you to keep it from getting too out of hand. The regularity in which you do it will depend heavily on the location that the LED light panel is in. If it is in a place that is prone to dust and dirt, then you will find that cleaning the panel as often as once or twice a week is a good idea. Cleaning your LED panel light is a great way to help it last for years to come.
